When to use it

Connect an agent that needs to manage Doorbell, send messages, or receive events through MCP.

Set it up

1. Sign in and open Connect your agent. Copy the MCP URL.
2. Add the URL as an MCP server in your agent's client. The standard install requests notifiers:read, configuration:write, messages:publish, and offline_access. Review those permissions before approving.
3. Copy the install prompt and give it to your agent. You can also download the skill files and add them to your client yourself.
4. Give your agent its task instructions. Tell it to acknowledge connection tests without starting real work.
5. If you need email events, connect your mailbox under Sources. Enter webhook URL and key credentials under Webhook receivers, not in chat.

Important limits

• An MCP connection does not connect Gmail or Outlook or give your agent access to email bodies.
• Read-only clients can request notifiers:read alone. Address save, test, activation, and pause require configuration:write. Publishing needs messages:publish, and offline_access allows refresh. These grants do not replace approval of a configuration change.
• The standard install does not grant deletion, credential changes, or source connection management. Those actions need separate elevated grants and approval.
• You must sign in to get the install prompt and skill files. Help pages are public.
• Verify the actual client's OAuth connection and receiving path. A generic MCP or webhook test does not establish live Grok Bot or Dots compatibility.

Troubleshooting

• If authorization expires, reconnect from your client. Deny permission requests you did not start.
• If a tool is missing, check your granted permissions and whether your client supports it.
